About Senescence

Some creatures in nature possess what's known as negligible senescence. This means that they experience very few or none of the effects of aging most animals endure. Tortoises, for example, are believed to be capable of living indefinitely as long as they receive proper nutrition, care, and protection from disease or infection.

Senescence is a term used in five different scientific fields: biology, cellular biology, gerontology (the study of aging), botany, and cytology. In all cases, it, in some way, relates to the changes associated with aging.
